Merry Christmas everyone! It is Christmas morning and Kameron just got up to see what Santa left in the stockings hung by the chimney with care. The cookies were eater except for a few crumbs, the milk is gone but for a small amount in the bottom of the glass and Santa forgot to put the fire place screen back all the way.

He can’t wait to see what is inside his stocking! There’s lot’s of great little gifts, pencils, small games and some sweets and finally in the bottom of the stocking…. Kameron got a PSP???!!! what ever that is? He is sure excited and knows what it is for….

Karen got a tennis necklace with a single gold tennis racket, some kitchen goodies and make up.
Ken got some special small screw drivers and a special present, he got his two gold crossed tennis rackets necklace back that disappeared when he and Karen celebrated their 10the anniversary at the Claremont Hotel – actually just a replica but he is counting it as the original.

We had Christmas Eve at our house with Karen’s Mom and Dad (Loretta and Ron), sister Sheri, husband Hank and two boys, Seth and David last night with lots of fun and laughter. We had a Christmas Eve dinner with soup and sandwiches around the Christmas tree with Christmas music. Finally we settled around the Christmas tree and Kameron our son (8 years old) played Santa’s helper for the first time by himself as he passed out the gifts from under the tree. We open our gifts one at a time so everyone gets to see what each person received and it helps to make the moment last longer.

It’s pretty special to see your son still believe and be so excited this time of year. I hope he realizes Santa will always be real if you believe. Christmas is special in your own home, by the tree you decorated together and surrounded by family. I only wish my Mom was alive to share this time and feelings with her son and grandson – she always made Christmas special for our family her whole life. After New Year we will go to Phoenix to visit my Dad, brother and sister and have an Arizona Christmas. It will be the second one with our Mom – but she will always be there.

I got a Christmas present, I even got to see Notre Dame win a bowl game – actually the first two scores in the first quarter.

After we had opened gifts for everyone at our house, we went to Karen’s sister’s house to open some more presents with her family, Hank, Seth and David. Kameron once again got to play Santa’s helper again and hand out all the presents. We laugh a lot, make a lot of puns and marvel at everyones gifts as each person opens their presents and we all watch and wait our turn. As the evening winds down we all head to our homes

We got home just in time to see the last minute of the Notre Dame game, their first bowl win in 9 years. I have always been a Notre Dame fan and especially since I taught Notre Dames Heisman Trophy winner John Huatre and his son and daughter. We became a close friend when I lived in Phoenix, Arizona and taught at the Western Reserve Club for 10 years.

My life is good with lots of friends like all of you and I appreciate your friendship. The older you get the more you appreciate the relationships that you have experienced as well as the ones you are experiencing daily. I wish each of you a special Holiday Season, good memories of days gone by as well as an appreciation of all you have with your family.

I look forward to a great 2009 of tennis and friendship with everyone. I hope my gift to you will be to help make your life more enjoyable and special this coming year. I would like to spend more time on the court with each of you.

As for me, I plan to work on my own tennis game as well. One of my New Year’s resolutions is to workout and play more tennis. I want to become the Roger Federer of the 60 plus age division – maybe Nadal would be OK too.

All the best to you,

Ken, Karen, and Kameron
